Together we achieve

Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

The staff in Year 2 are Miss Lighton, Mrs Stainton and Mrs Difuria.

Our P.E days this term are Mondays and Tuesdays - please can all children come to school in their kit. Earrings need to be removed or tape needs to be provided for this.

In year two, we encourage children to be reading at home regularly - three times per week if possible. This should be recorded into reading diaries alongside the date, book title and pages read. Please do include any other reading your child does at home - it is great for the children to share and discuss what books they like to read. Reading books should be in school everyday please to ensure children can quiz and change their books regularly.

Take a look at some photographs of our first school trip to Lincoln Castle. We met Lucy the dragon, walked the castle wall, made shields, had a banquet and even tried on some battle equipment ready for the archery session. We had a brilliant time learning about the history of Lincoln Castle and how it was built.

Below are some home learning ideas for our Summer Term One. These can be completed as and when you wish to do so, please do send in your home learning via the yellow homework files returned to school each Wednesday.

Take a look at the reading at home prompts below. Children are encouraged to read at home three times a week, these questions are very helpful for checking your child's understanding of the text they are reading.

Please find below a list of the year one and year two spelling lists for home practice.

Here are some pictures from our different "memorable experience" days. We had a Pirate Day and a Messy Day to introduce our learning of topics: Land Ahoy and Muck, Mess and Mixtures!
