We are looking for a teacher to join our staff team at Charles Baines Community Primary School.


Charles Baines is a popular primary school in Gainsborough.


The position is to start on 1st September 2024. The salary is offered on the Main or Upper Pay Scale and is a permanent position.
This post is particularly suitable for a more experienced teacher who would be able to take on subject leadership and have the possibility to make a wider contribution to school life.


However, we are also happy to receive applications from ECTs and teachers in the early years of their career.

Caretaker - Part time, Permanent

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking Caretaker for our Primary school located on Baines Road, Gainsborough.

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time, 20 hours, Term time plus 4 weeks
Start Date: ASAP (subject to candidate availability)
Salary Range: £25,119 - £27,803 pro-rata grade G5:12 – G5:15

Work Pattern: Split Shift, with flexible mutually agreed hours for the rest of the contracted hours.

We are looking for a caretaker to join our lively team. This role is pivotal to the running of the school ensuring that our site is safe and well-maintained and that our facilities provide exceptional opportunities for learning, both inside and out. As a school, we highly value this responsible position and we require a team player who has high standards, takes pride in their work and has a hands-on approach to planned and unplanned tasks.

It is expected that the successful applicant can undertake a range of maintenance work e.g. minor plumbing, carpentry, grounds maintenance, unblocking of drains, repairing furniture, decorating, litter picks, gritting, sweeping etc.

The Caretaker will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the premises inside and out, collecting/assembling waste, the locking/unlocking and the setting of security alarm systems, weekly fire alarm testing, carrying out security checks and responding to emergency calls (although an external agency is first response for these events, the caretaker would be added to a list of staff members to contact in the case of an emergency).

• are able to liaise with external contractors and organise schedules of work and ensure improvements are carried out
• have the ability to carry out effective risk assessments
• are conscientious, methodical and a good record keeper
• have good computer skills e.g. excel, word, outlook
• are reasonably fit, as this is a physical role involving lifting and carrying, working both indoors and outdoors in all weathers
• have excellent communication and organisational skills
• are capable of establishing good working relationships with staff, pupils and parents
• have a collaborative and open approach to teamwork
• can be flexible in their approach to planning the working day
• are hard-working and proactive in keeping our school site safe and attractive
• will act as a key holder
• are committed to developing an exciting and nurturing learning environment
• have the ability to manage the proactive and reactive maintenance of the school site with support from the School Business Manager and Admin Assistants.
