Together we achieve

Year 5

Our class motto is: Shoot for the Moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among stars!

25.1.18 We carried out an experiment to understand how Centripetal force works on a rollercoaster.

What stops people falling out of a rollercoaster during a loop-the-loop?

Exploring Centripetal Force, we have been looking at forces used to work rollercoasters

We are proud of what we can achieve as a team, drumming 25.1.18

Look out! Bruno, our resident alien is behind you!

5....4....3....2....1.....!!!! We have blasted off Year 5 with our spectacular subject, "Stargazers". The children have been very busy learning useful mnemonics to remember the order of planets. "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles! We have been amazed by how tiny our planet really is compared to the Sun. Also, we've been having fun with fruit to investigate the relative size of planets and an afternoon has been spent with hoola hoops and toilet rolls to make a practical model to show the distance of all our planets from the Sun.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the National Space Centre in Leicester. We really immersed ourselves in the wonders of space travel.
